ve guitar work, carefully constructed bass passages, and a voice that smashes into focus atop the platform laid down by the music, Shallow Side has crafted a new sound with the same "no holds barred" attitude that has kept rock n roll alive and kicking since its inception.

Earthside are a cinematic rock collective from New England, USA. Featuring Jamie van Dyck - Guitar, Frank Sacramone - Keyboards, Ben Shanbrom - Drums and Ryan Giffrin - Bass.
Their impressive debut "A dream in static" is everything but background music, this album is a world of sounds. You´re in for a listening pleasure that will take you to the moon and back, but also give you the same adventurous feeling as a diver among sharks.
The music is full of surprises with instrumental movements, orchestral pieces, modern metal riffs and elements of progressive rock.
The album features guest vocals from Lajon Witherspoon (Sevendust) on the 10 minute long "Mob mentality", Daniel Tompkins (TesseracT) on the title track "A dream in static", Björn Strid (Soilwork) on "Crater" and Eric Zirlinger (Face The King) on "Contemplation of the beautiful".
Earthside could be the next big thing in the progrock world, they are about to create tsunami waves with this album.
The female fronted electro rock band Veridia released a strong debut EP with "Inseperable" in 2014 and it´s good to hear that the 2nd EP "Pretty lies" isn´t an exact copy of the first one.
They truly had a wild mix of dubstep, orchestral rock and electro pop on "Inseperable" but focus more on electro pop/rock oriented songs on the new EP, there´s less dubstep and just a perfect amount of orchestral elements on these 4 songs.
The title track sounds a lot like the Swedish band InDevotion and even if it´s a catchy tune, I prefer the more rocking tracks "At the end of the world" and the powerful opener "Crazy in a good way".
Imagine a more poppy Evanescence and you´ll get "Pretty lies".
Playing in a rock band ain´t no rocket science, you just need like-minded people that wants to spend endless hours of rehearsal and have nothing against being broke over studio recordings.
When your local favorite band has a gig coming up, you don´t ask to be on the guestlist because real fans support their bands. Or else bands like The Nixon Rodeo won´t make it outside their hometown of Spokane in the state of Washington, not far from grunge capitol of Seattle.
They have already released 3 albums with "Made to bleed" in 2012, "The Understatement" in 2013 and the new record "Relentless", available now.
TNR crank it up on the first track "Raise the bar" and my thoughts go directly to Quiet Riot but even if the music leans more towards modern hard rock with 80´s vibes. There are also traces of pop punk in some of the songs.
This is what you get if you put Buckcherry, Trapt and Blink 182 into a blender. The best songs are "Scandal", "Now or never" and the cool rocking cover of Michael Jackson´s "Billie Jean".
When you´re in Orlando, Florida, you can visit Disney World and Sea World or you can rock like the modern rock trio Story´s End.
They are Michael Folds - Guitar/Lead Vocals, Dan Lacey - Bass/Keyboards/Vocals and Troy Wickliffe - Drums. Three guys with the love of creating good music to the world.
The band released their self titled debut EP in 2012 that featured the massive single "Fading" and now they continue with their raid of modern rock bombs on the new EP "Turning point".
We get upbeat pop / punk flavored modern rock within these 4 new tracks that can be described as New Found Glory meets SR 71 with a touch of Volbeat, strange as it may sound.
I like the edgy guitarsound and the band sure do sound tight and hungry, it´s a solid EP but none of the songs can match the superstrong and 3 year old "Fading".

Let me present Nick Box and Jake Lester of Sleeperstar with their new side project Echowulf, that is way more electro pop flavored music compared to their band Sleeperstar.
Their debut EP "Just run" contains 6 songs that sound both atmospheric and handmade for the pop charts, this will please fans of Imagine Dragons as well as artists like Lights and Owl City.
I hope it will end up as a musical one night stand because I won´t be too happy if these guys quit Sleeperstar to focus on Echowulf, the music is hardly unique and not in any way as great as their mainband. But it´s cool as a project.
"23 years" is the solo debut from bassplayer/singer Jeff Brown who played with NWOBHM band Wildfire in the mid 80´s and later also Statetrooper with Gary Barden (MSG).
Jeff was with The Sweet for 16 years and recently also pop group The Tremeloes, he went to Germany to record his first solo album with some German musicians including Peter Szigeti (Warlock) on lead guitar.
Soundwise this melodic hard rock album bring thoughts to Michael Schenker Group and Stratus, the songs "Contagious" and "Casino Royale" are quite good but the rest didn´t move me at all.
This album sounds like it could´ve been released on record labels such as Now and Then Records or Long Island Records in the 90´s, the music feels rather mediocre and Jeff is not a lead singer in my world. He should concentrate on his 4 strings instead.
A fun project, a hard rock supergroup or simply a covers band? Well, Hollywood Vampires was a club in the 70´s where rock stars like Alice Cooper and others met and partied hard.
So that brings us 40 years later when Cooper team up with Aerosmith´s guitarist Joe Perry and film actor Johnny Depp on guitar and together they make Hollywood Vampires.
This album contains 2 new tracks "Raise the dead" and "My dead drunk friends" along with a bunch of 70´s covers by Badfinger, The Doors, The Who, Led Zeppelin, Jimi Hendrix, Spirit, Harry Nilsson, The Small Faces, John Lennon, T-Rex and Pink Floyd.
There are at least a dozen famous session musicians involved in the making of this album but I won´t go further into the album credits, if you just close your eyes it´s easy to believe these are unreleased lost recordings from the mid 70´s by Alice Cooper.
I had fun listening to Hollywood Vampires and I think most Cooper fans will enjoy it.
Moonbound is the creative work of Fabio Trentini, this Italian composer/producer/musician/singer has gathered an impressive line up of names on the 3rd album.
How about Pat Mastelotto - Drums (Mr.Mister), Tony Levin - Bass (King Crimson), Markus Reuter - Guitar (Crimson ProjeCKt), Steve Farris - Guitar (Mr.Mister), Tim Pierce - Guitar (Rick Springfield) and Steve George - Piano (Mr.Mister).
Moonbound released their first album "Confession and release" in 2008 and it was followed by "Peak of eternal light" in 2011, which leads us up to the brilliant 3rd record "Uncomfortable news from the moon".
Fabio is definitely influenced by Peter Gabriel and similar songbased progrock artists, I am rather weak for this kind of music that bring thoughts to Toy Matinee, Mr Mister and This Oceanic Feeling.
Listen to the single "Cheetah conquers the moon" on Youtube and if you dig that one, you´re gonna love the rest of the album.
It´s very professional.

Reuniting some old friends, and making some new, RADIO EXILE is a fantastic blend of hard rock that will not disappoint the existing fans of any of these musicians. In fact, RADIO EXILE is sure to gain a new generation of fans who will be hungry for more.
The lineup is notable with Charlie Calv on keyboards and Chandler Mogel on lead vocals. Jimmy Leahey contributes his soulful guitar playing, and all are constructed on the rhythm foundations crafted by bassist Kenny Aaronson and percussion specialist Dave Anthony. Their impressive resumes list their many accomplishments, but only hint at what RE truly represents.
Radio Exile drops October 23rd.
Former Angel guitarist Punky Meadows is working on his first solo album Fallen Angel with Danny Anniello on lead vocals and Felix Robinson on bass (ex.Angel).
