Though their sound comes straight out of the spacey prog and proto-metal of the '70s, Swedish band Horisont formed in 2006. Comprised of singer Axel Söderberg, guitarists Charles Van Loo and Kristofer Möller, bassist Magnus Delborg, and drummer Pontus Jordan, the band conjures the sounds of rock and metal's age of exploration with sprawling compilations that evoke the classical influences of Yes and Jethro Tull with the drive and desire of Judas Priest and Iron Maiden.
